Sewer Lining

Sewer lining for suitable damaged runs serving one or more properties, with branch connections and ownership considered separately.

Sewer Lining enquiry

Sewer lining repairs suitable damage in a run that may serve several properties. We establish the pipe condition before recommending lining, while responsibility for the sewer is checked separately. A sewer crossing private land is not necessarily owned by that landowner.

Flow control and connections

Branches feeding the proposed repair length need identifying before sewage flows are controlled.

Repair limits

The agreed sewer work should define its limits and the inspection needed before return to use.

Flow control and connections

The surveyed length may receive sewage from several branches. Incoming flows need managing during preparation and curing, while connected openings must remain functional after the liner is installed. The design identifies how each affected junction is treated; lining the sewer does not automatically repair every adjoining private drain.

Defining the sewer repair

The proposed work states the length to be lined, any local excavation needed and the completion inspection. Responsibility for the network is checked separately from its technical condition. The completed work identifies the lined section separately from branches and downstream pipework that remain unchanged.

Main sewer lining and branch connections

Lining the main bore does not automatically repair a defective junction. Where a connection has its own defect, that treatment is specified separately and the affected opening is checked before the sewer returns to use.

Sewer Lining: common questions

Can a sewer be repaired without excavation?

Internal repair is possible where the remaining bore, access and design are suitable.

Does lining include connected private drains?

Only the connections and drains included in the agreed work are covered. Separate branches may need additional repair.

Can work proceed while sewage flows through it?

Incoming sewage normally needs controlling while the affected section is prepared, lined and cured.

Does a sewer under my garden automatically belong to me?

No. Location within a boundary does not by itself establish network ownership.

Can a branch need its own connection repair?

Yes. Restoring an opening and repairing a defective junction are not necessarily the same task.
