Industrial Pipe Relining enquiry

Industrial pipe relining requires a specification based on the actual service. We assess the pipe’s condition alongside the liquids, temperatures and operating pressures it encounters. A system suitable for ordinary foul drainage is not automatically suitable for process chemicals, higher temperatures or pressure duty.

Chemical and operating compatibility

Intermittent process discharges matter alongside the liquid normally carried by the pipe.

Isolation and return to service

Isolation must cover relevant branches while the repair is installed and reaches its specified cure.

Chemical, temperature and pressure compatibility

Resin and reinforcement selection needs to account for the substances carried, including cleaning chemicals used intermittently. Concentration, temperature and exposure conditions can matter as much as the product name. Pressure applications require an appropriate system and design; a general claim of chemical resistance does not establish suitability for every process stream.

Process isolation and return to service

Relevant branches and incoming process flows must be controlled before preparation and curing. Residual liquids also need handling appropriate to their hazards. Completion checks and any specified testing relate to the defined duty, with the repaired length distinguished from surrounding pipework that remains unchanged.

Checks for the intended pipe duty

Completion checks reflect the intended duty of the repaired pipe. A gravity flow check does not demonstrate suitability for pressure or chemical service, so materials and any specified testing must match the stated operating conditions. A later change in process duty may require a new compatibility review.

Industrial Pipe Relining: common questions

Can a domestic drain liner handle process chemicals?

Compatibility must be established for the actual substances, exposure and temperature. Domestic suitability is not enough.

Does this automatically include pressure pipework?

Pressure duty requires a system and design suitable for that application, expressly included in the work.

Can production continue during the repair?

Only where the affected process flows and work area can be controlled safely during the repair.

Do intermittent cleaning chemicals matter?

Yes. Occasional exposure can affect compatibility even where the normal process liquid appears less demanding.

Can the site change the process liquid after lining?

A change in duty may require compatibility and design review before the repaired pipe is used for it.
