Survey first, repair second
A damaged drain is investigated before anyone decides how to fix it, and the camera findings set the course. Sometimes the answer is a patch at a single joint, sometimes a liner along a longer run, and sometimes a collapsed section has to be replaced.
When no-dig is the right call
What matters most is the condition of the pipe. Where the existing bore is still suitable, relining can save opening up a driveway or floor. Badly displaced sections, collapse and serious fall problems are different, and they may need excavation. Before work is agreed, the proposed repair, its limits and any realistic alternative are explained.
Working around the people in the building
Chamber access, and any temporary restrictions on connected facilities, are planned around whoever is using the premises. After the repair, the completed section is inspected and any separate defects found beyond it are reported. Further work is agreed separately.
